Glennan, 95, widow of former Pilot managing editor Virginia Cooke Glennan, 95, of 329 Whitehaven Lane, a member of an old Norfolk family , died Thursday in a hospital. A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of the late Willoughby Talbot Cooke and Caroline Wheatley Cooke and the widow of Edward Keville Glennan, who was the managing editor of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger Dispatch for many years. She was also a daughter-in-law of Michael Glennan, founder of the Norfolk Virginian, a forerunner of the Virginian-Pilot. She was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church, Colonial Dames of America and the Monday Club and was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Women's College. She was a former member of the Garden Club of Norfolk and Princess Anne Country Club. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harley B. Ferguson Jr. of Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. John Jordan. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, has charge. Memorial donations may be sent to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, the Jackson- Field Home for Girls at Jarratt or the Boys Home at Covington.
