Mrs. C.D. Glidewell, Former President of Garden Clubs Group

NORFOLK - Mrs. Carrie Drummond Glidewell, 83, of 1309 Harmott Ave., the wife 
of Harlie E. Glidewell and a former president of the Federation of Garden 
Clubs of Norfolk, died Monday at 11:15 a.m. in her home.
Mrs. Glidewell, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, also was retired co-owner of 
H.E. Glidewell, Jewelers and watchmakers.
She was a past president of the Lakewood Garden Club and member of Knox 
Presbyterian Church.
Other survivors include a niece, Mrs. Marguerite Johnson of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. James H. Nowell. Burial will be in 
Magnolia Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 
to 8:30 and also at 3181 Shipps Corner Road, Virginia Beach.
