Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 21, 1940

Dennis S. Glowatsky, aged 51, husband of Mrs. Rosa J. Glowatsky and son of the 
late Stepan and Mrs. Lena Glowatsky, a native of Russia and a resident of this 
section for the past 33 years, died yesterday morning at 9:05 o'clock at a local 
hospital. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lena S. and Anna 
Marie Glowatsky; one son, Daniel Frederick Glowatsky, two stepsons, Antony F. 
and Vincent S. Sangeorge and one brother, Stepan Glowatsky, of Russia.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, to St. Matthew's Catholic Church for services tomorrow morning at 10 
o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Dennis S. Glowatsky - Funeral services for Mr. Glowatsky, whose death occurred 
Tuesday, were held at 10 o’clock yesterday morning at St. Matthew’s Catholic 
Church with the Rev. M. J. Harrison, the pastor, officiating. There was a large 
attendance and a number of floral offerings. The casket was covered with 
clusters of gladioli, asters and fern. During the service, Mrs. Gatewood 
Dashield and Mrs. Dennis Curling sang, “Thou Art My Hope, Dear Sacred Heart" and 
“In the Sacraments, Sweet Jesus,” with Mrs. Harry Fulford as organist.
Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery and pallbearers were C. W. Millard, C. C. 
Grinalds, R. Lisico, W. H. White. Jim Christopiam, Sergt. O. L. Parkinson, 
Reuben Millard and Ignac Zemoitel.
