Glynn, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2021. Born in Greenfield, Mass, and a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms college, she was an opera trained soprano and classically trained pianist and was singing on stage when her beloved Philip first laid eyes on her and their epic love story began. She has been a resident of Hampton since 1967, where she taught at St. Mary Star of the Sea School 1972-1981 in order to support her children’s Catholic education. She then became office manager for Philip’s growing financial advisor office until she decided it was time to be a full-time grandmother and prayer warrior. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 50 years and is a founding member of council Knight Cappers ladies organization which supports the work of the Knights of Columbus council 511. Sylvia is survived by her children and their spouses, Mary and Steve Underkofler, Judy and Rick Campbell, Shiela Fallon, John and Francesca Glynn and Edward and Christina Glynn; twenty-two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Sylvia’s home from 3PM Sunday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 Buckroe Ave., in Hampton, Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. Arrangements are by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, in Hampton. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Philippians 2 Foundation, 620 Buckroe Avenue, Hampton, VA 23664.
