He was a resident of Hampton for the past 45 years. Philip was born to Ivan and Shiela Glynn in Greenfield, Mass., in 1938. He attended Tantasqua High School and graduated from Saint Michael's College in Vermont. He married his beloved bride, Sylvia Blouin, in the spring of 1960, in Springfield, Mass. They were blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family at their cherished home. Philip was an ROTC graduate from Saint Michael's, entered the Air Force as a second lieutenant and finished his military career as a captain. His civilian career expanded over 40 years as a financial advisor and later as a certified financial planner, with IDS Financial Services, which grew into Ameriprise Financial Services. He was a devoted parishioner of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hampton, Va., where all five of his children entered into the Sacrament of Marriage. He was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and a third degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a lector and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for many years. Philip was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Glynn; his mother, Shiela Glynn; and his sister, Judy Glynn. He leaves behind his sister and her husband, Marge and Earl Jackson; his best friend and beloved wife, Sylvia Glynn; his five children and their spouses, Mary and Steve Underkofler, Judy and Rick Campbell, John and Francesca Glynn, Shiela and Bill Fallon, and Edward and Christina Glynn; and 22 grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. The viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a funeral at 3 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by R.
