Virginian Pilot April 1, 1902 
Mrs. Harriet Henrietta Dashiell Godfrey, of Portsmouth, died yesterday at the St. 
Christopher Hospital, Freemason street, as the result of an operation.  Mrs. 
Godfrey was 71 years old, and was a native of Accomack County.  She had been a 
resident of Portsmouth for twelve years.  The interment will be in Berkley.

The remains of Mrs. Harriet Henrietta Dashiell Godfrey, who died at the St. 
Christopher Hospital, Norfolk, were interred yesterday in Magnolia Cemetery.  Mrs. 
Godfrey was a sister of Capt. Thos. Dashiell, of Portsmouth, and a former resident 
of this city, where many friends and relatives mourn her loss.
