Godfrey, a member of the Pickett-Buchanan Camp of Confederate Veterans, died in this city on Sunday last and his remains were interred in the Camp's lot in Elmwood Cemetery on yesterday, the funeral being attended by a number of his former comrades. Mr. Godfrey enlisted as a private in the Thirty-eighth Regiment of Virginia Infantry at the commencement of the war and served during the four years that followed with a whole-souled devotion to the "Lost Cause," and his death will be mourned by his many friends and comrades. His health having been failing for some time, preparations were being made to send him to the Soldiers' Home, at Richmond.
