Virginian-Pilot  April 23, 1926
Mrs. Alice E. Godward, widow of Thomas P. Godward and daughter of the late William 
T. and Mary Douglass Morrisette, died at the residence, 419 West Thirtieth street, 
yesterday afternoon at 5:15 o’clock. She was a native of Portsmouth, but had been 
a resident of Norfolk nearly all her life. She is survived by a daughter, Miss 
Bessie E. Godward; a sister, Miss Mary E. Morrisette; two brothers, Charles A. 
Morrlsette, of Norfolk, and V. P. Morrisette, of New Jersey, and several nieces 
and nephews.
The body will be taken from the funeral apartments of H. D. Oliver, 610-12 East 
Freemason street, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, for funeral services tomorrow 
morning at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
