Virginian-Pilot August 9, 1981
NORFOLK — Mrs. Retta Mills Godwin, 94, of 265 N. Blake Road, a native of Accomack 
County and the widow of William Edmond Godwin II, died Saturday in a hospital.
She was a Methodist.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Godwin Galvin and Mrs. Emily Godwin 
Hawkins of Norfolk; two sons, William Edmond Godwin III and Bentley Culpepper 
Godwin of Virginia Beach, eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. 
The family suggests that flowers be omitted.
