Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, January 29, 1992 
Mattie Estelle Goffigan , formerly of the 800 block of Avenue C, a retired
domestic worker, died Jan. 27, 1992, in Petersburg.

Mrs. Goffigan was born in Dinwiddie, Va. She was the widow of Vernon Goffigan
and was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church. She was also a member of the
Susie Hawkins Floral Club.

She is survived by a sister, Pauline Boisseau of Church Road, Va.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in New Calvary Baptist Church by
the Rev. G.G. Campbell Jr. Burial will be in Cavlary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home
is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at noon Friday.
Friends may join the family at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
