VIRGINIA BEACH - Carmen M. Gomez, 95, of the 1800 block of Centerville Turnpike, 
died Aug. 18, 1988, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Gomez, a native of Spain, was the widow of Miguel Gomez. She was a member of 
St. Matthew’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Manuela G. Kannon and Lillian G. Pena, both of 
Chesapeake, and Alba G. Jackson of Virginia Beach; two sons, Bernard Gomez of 
Chesapeake and Robert Gomez of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-
grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted al 2 p.m. Saturday in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk, by the Rev. Randy Rule. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic 
Church Cemetery. A Christian wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral 
home.
