Virginian-Pilot  December 21 & 22, 1938
MRS. MARY VENTURA GONZALES, wife of Joseph Gonzales, a native of Portugal and a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 30 years, died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning at 
a local hospital.  Besides her husband, Joseph Gonzales, she is survived by three 
daughters, Mrs. William Crump, Mrs. John Houmis and Miss Cecelia Gonzales; two 
sons, Joseph Gonzales, Jr., and Anthony Gonzales; two grandchildren, Mary Louise 
and Frances Crump, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Maria Dos Santos, of 
Portugal, and Mrs. Angelina Mederios, of Connecticut; two brothers, Joseph 
Ventura, of Massachusetts, and Manuel Ventura, of Rhode Island.  The body will be 
taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to St. 
Mary's Catholic Church, of which she was a member, for services Thursday morning 
at 10 o'clock.  Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

DIED

GONZALES, MARY VENTURA - At a local hospital, Tuesday, December 20th, 1938, at 4 
o'clock a.m., Mary Ventura, wife of Joseph Gonzales, in the 59th year of her age.  
Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, to St. Mary's Catholic Church for services Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. 

Friends of the family are invited to attend.  Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
