Virginian-Pilot  March 31, 1940
Joseph Gonzales, aged 66, a native of Portugal, and a resident of Norfolk for the 
past 40 years, died yesterday afternoon at 12:45 o’clock at the residence, 802 
Bermuda street. Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. W. T. Crump, Mrs. John 
Houmis, and Miss Cecelia Gonzales, and two sons, Joseph Gonzales, Jr., and Anthony 
Gonzales, all of Norfolk.
The body was removed to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, 
pending arrangements.
