Virginian Pilot June 29, 1909

                       Mrs. Edward P. Gooding

Mrs. Susan R. Gooding, wife of Edward P. Gooding, died at 10:20 o'clock 
yesterday morning in the residence of her daughter, Mrs. R.W. Gatewood, at 17 
Dinwiddie Street, in the 61st year of her age.
For several years Mrs. Gooding was an invalid and a great sufferer, but she bore 
her affliction with fortitude.
For the last 35 years she made her home in Portsmouth coming here from 
Washington, D.C., where she was born. Possessed of an amiable disposition, her 
acquaintance covered a wide circle. She was a consistent member of St. Paul's 
Catholic Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gatewood, in whose home 
she died and three sons--C.P. Gooding and H.L. and E.M. Gooding, the latter two 
living in Washington, D.C.

GOODING - At the residence, No. 17 Dinwiddie street, Portsmouth, Va., on June 
28, 1909, at 10:20 o’clock a.m., SUSAN REBECCA, wife of Edward P. Gooding.
Funeral services at the residence THIS (Wednesday) MORNING at 10 o’clock. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend.
