Funeral services for Emanuel Goodman, of 1236 New York avenue, who died 
Tuesday, April 5, after a long illness, were held at Mt. Gilead Baptist 
Church, with Rev. John R. Gray officiating.  E. A. Hughes Funeral Home was 
in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Goodman was a member of Mt. Gilead church for 48 years, where he was on 
the deacon board.  He was also a member of the Odd Fellows, Masons of Piece, 
and Royal Lights.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bessie Goodman;  son, Herman Goodman;  
grandson, William Goodman Jr.;  daughter, Mrs. Gertie Goodman;  sister, Mrs. 
Sarah Sinclair;  several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and 
friends.

Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
