Mrs. Goodman was born in Norfolk. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, James E. Goodman Sr. of Philadelphia; three daughters, Shirley Freeman and Janice Goodman, both of Norfolk, and Zelma Hall of Philadelphia; a son, James Goodman of Virginia Beach; a sister, Elizabeth Harden of Virginia Beach; a brother, Felton Spencer of Norfolk; and grandchildren, Allen Goodman, Denise Goodman, Georgia Watson, Melvinia Freeman, Sterling Freeman, Brian Goodman, Gregory Goodman, Georgette Goodman, Cheneil Goodman and James Goodman III; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Georgia Spencer and George Scott. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bethlehem Baptist Church by the Rev. L.P. Watson and the Rev. Charles Nellum. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
