Virginian-Pilot March 20, 1913
George W. Goodson died at his home, 1108 Jamison avenue, yesterday morning, after 
several years' illness, in the fifty-second year of his life. He was a native of 
Virginia and had been a resident of Norfolk forty-seven years, where he was well-
known and highly esteemed for his many excellent qualities. He is survived by a 
widow, four sons and one daughter and two brothers. His sons are W.L., A.L., A.J. 
and G W. Goodson, his daughter, Miss May Louise Goodson; brothers, B.F. and W.D. 
Goodson, of Norfolk. He was a member of the Eagles. The funeral will be held at 
St. Peter's Episcopal church, of which he was a member, at 3 o'clock Friday 
afternoon.
