NORFOLK — John Robert Goodson, 76, of 8575 Chesapeake Blvd., died in a hospital 
Tuesday.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Bessie Snow Goodson and a son of John R. 
Goodson Sr. and Mrs. Bertie Goodson.
A Norfolk native, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a retired 
merchant.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Bertie G. Winn of Portsmouth; and a grandson, 
William T. Goodson Jr., and granddaughter, Miss Vickie Lynn Goodson, both of 
Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Thursday at 2 
p.m. by the Rev. Emory E. Byrum of Cradock Baptist Church. Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
