Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday January 26, 1930
John Thomas Goodwin, aged 76, died yesterday afternoon at 3:40 o'clock at 
the home of his daughter, F.W. Hall, 1612 Bainbridge road, South Norfolk, 
after a comparatively brief illness.  He was a son of the late Caleb and 
Mrs. Rebecca Goodwin of Currituck Court House, N.C., but had been a resident 
of this section 30 years.
Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Berry, Mrs. Hall and Mrs. 
Alethia Griffin, of South Norfolk; one son Joseph Goodwin, of Newport News  
and 17 grandchildren. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hall residence tomorrow afternoon 
at 3 o'clock and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
