                  DEATH OF FORMER BERKLEY WARD RESIDENT
News of the death of W.B. Goodwin, father of Thomas K. and James P., which 
occurred at his home at Hampton, Va., was received yesterday evening.  He 
died at 8 o'clock after a long illness.
The deceased was well known in Berkley, having resided here several years 
ago.  His sons are employed with their uncle, P.H. Brouellet, of the 
Atlantic Book Stores, Berkley Ward, Norfolk.  He is also survived by a widow 
and one daughter, of Hampton.
The remains will arrive here this afternoon at 3 o'clock and will be laid to 
rest in Magnolia Cemetery.  The funeral service will take place at the 
grave.  Rev. Mr. Hobday, a former pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist 
Church, will officiate.
