The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark March 19, 1933


Robert Armstead Goodwyn, aged 49, husband of Grace Collins Goodwyn, died at 
his residence, 124 West seventeenth Street, Apartment2, yesterday afternoon at 
5:30 o’clock. Besides his wife he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. C.C. 
Crichton, of Norfolk; Mrs. Charles Donnovant and Mrs. Russell Black, both of 
Chesterfield County, and Miss Jane Goodwyn of Bellhaven; his father, Nathaniel 
B. Goodwyn, of Drewrys Bluff; four brothers, James and Charles Goodwyn, both 
of Drewrys Bluff, and Arthur and Richard Goodwyn, both of Powhatan County, and 
two nieces, Misses Charleva and Grace Crichton. Mr. Goodwyn was a native of 
Brunswick County, and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 20 years and 
had been in the employ of Virginia Electric and Power Company for the last 30 
years. 
Funeral services will be conducted at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
