Rev. Father John Doherty, of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, conducted the obsequies and the interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Mrs. Goon, an American young woman, was only about 17 years old at her death. Her husband conducts a restaurant on East Main street, employing white help, and is said to be prosperous. The Chinamen of Norfolk showed their sympathy for their bereaved fellow- countryman, and their respect for his young American wife by a large and beautiful floral offering at the funeral, which was attended by them. Additional Comments: From the records of HD Oliver, she was 24.
