Gordon (sic), one of the most highly respected and well-known of Norfolk's citizens, died at his residence on Bermuda street Sunday, from consumption after a long illness. The deceased was a son of the late John D. Gordon and was a Lieutenant in the Lee Guard during the war, and afterward a member of the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues. He was one of the oldest members of Pocahontas Council, No. 493, Royal Arcanum, of which he was one of the foremost workers, and an honorary member of the N. L. A. Blues. He was 45 years old and leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss. Pocahontas Council and the N. L. A. Blues will both attend his funeral this afternoon in a body.
