Alexander Gordon of 1228 Reservoir avenue, a retired Norfolk Naval Base employee 
who served 28 years, will be given final rites Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at 
Metropolitan AME Zion Church.  He died April 2 in a local hospital. 

The Rev. Richard Councill will officiate at the service.  Burial will be in 
Calvary Cemetery under direction of Hale Funeral Home.

Mr. Gordon was a Norfolk native.  He was a member of Metropolitan’s choir and 
Colonial Circle club.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Gordon;  a brother, Leonard Gordon of 
Philadelphia;  and a sister, Mrs. Irene Reid of Norfolk.
