Norfolk -  Mrs. Ruth M. Gordon of 2837 Febian avenue, the widow of Johnnie 
Gordon, died in a hospital.

A native of Richmond, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Mrs. Madeline 
Dabney.

She worked for the Norfolk school system 20 years and retired.

She was a member of Greater Metropolitan AME Church and the Senior Citizens 
Club.

Surviving are two stepsons, Sherman Gordon of Port Arthur, TX, and Leroy Smith 
of Norfolk;  and a sister, Mrs. Olnette Barrett of Richmond.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Greater Metropolitan AME 
Church by the Rev. Jackson Brown.  Burial was in the family plot of Calvary 
Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
