The Virginian Pilot Thursday September 21, 1961
Charles A. Gorgas, a native of Norfolk and a resident of New York-New Jersey 
area 40 years, died Monday in an Englewood, N.J. hospital.
He was a son of Charles Sydney Gorgas and Mrs. Virginia Lee Pebworth Gorgas.
He retired as assistant auditor of the Port of New York Authority after 26 
years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha King Gorgas of Tenafly, N.J.; one 
sister, Mrs. J.A.D. Parrish of Norfolk; one niece, Shirley Virginia Parrish, 
and one nephew, J.A.G. Parrish, both of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be conducted in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday 
at 2 p.m. by Dr. Harold Fink, pastor of Park Place Methodist Church. Burial 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
