Norfolk - Martha "Marty" Cleghorn Gorman of Roswell, NM died March 15, 2017. She 
was born to Harold and Emmie Chandler Cleghorn on June 24, 1941 in Portsmouth, VA. 
She is survived by her husband C. Daniel Gorman and their children Margaret 
Gorman, Maureen Glenn, Mary Gorman, Daniel Gorman, and David Gorman, as well as 
her siblings Nancy Shervold of Reno, NV and Harold Cleghorn of Brunswick GA.

Marty attended St. Joseph's Nursing School in Savannah GA and later received a 
Master's degree from VCU-MCV. She had a long career as a nurse. Marty used her 
beautiful voice to glorify God during her life. She served as Cantor at Blessed 
Sacrament Church for over twenty years. She loved animals from the time she was a 
little girl and was never without pets of all sorts. She nursed stranded and stray 
animals whenever the opportunity arose.

A Funeral Mass will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6400 Newport Ave. 
Norfolk, Monday, April 3 at 12:00 noon with Visitation at 11:00. Committal will 
follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 3000 Church St. Norfolk.
