CDR Clifford Daniel Gorman, U.S. Navy Retired, 85, passed away Wednesday, December 
22, 2021. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Maurice 
Clifford Gorman and Margaret Cashman Gorman. He was preceded in death by his 
beloved wife, Martha Cleghorn Gorman.

Mr. Gorman was a graduate of Providence College, the Naval War College, Defense 
Intelligence School and the Armed Forces Staff College. He was commissioned into 
the United States Navy in 1958. A Vietnam veteran, he served his country for 26 
years achieving the rank of Commander before retiring in 1984.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Margaret Gorman and husband, Richard 
Siira, Maureen Glenn and husband, James Glenn, Mary Gorman and husband, Jameson 
Libhart and David Gorman and wife, Amy Gorman. He loved his six grandchildren, 
Jacob and Chandler Glenn, Meron and Aidan Siira, and David Nathan and Liam Gorman.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30th in Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. Eric Ayres officiating. Burial with military 
honors will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family
