Virginian-Pilot  August 21, 1908
The funeral of the late Thomas Gorman was solemnized from the Sacred Heart 
Catholic church at 10 a.m. yesterday and was numerously attended. Requiem mass was 
celebrated by the temporary pastor, Rev. Father W. A. O'Hara, of Keyser, W.Va., 
and was assisted in the service by Rev. Father John J. Doherty, pastor of St. 
Mary’s Catholic church and the associate pastor, Rev. Father Edward Walsh. There 
was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. During the service, the choir 
rendered several appropriate selections. The interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery. 
Following were the pallbearers: J. R. Coleman, W. J. Scultatus, R. L. Morris, W. 
H. Hall, M. J. Vellines, J. W. Long, William Hart and Charles E. Francis.
