Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 5, 1949

Mrs. Mary Elena Russell Gorman, 49, wife of Bernard James Gorman and daughter of 
the late James Wilson and Mrs. Anne Virginia Russell, a native of Nags Head, 
N.C. and a resident of Norfolk for many years, died at the residence, 725 Duke 
Street, Friday at 5:40 p.m.
Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Robert James Bland, of Norfolk; 
two sisters, Mrs. R.J. Padgett, of Richmond and Mrs. Anna Rettew, of Washington, 
D.C. and one brother, George Oliver Russell, of Norfolk.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday at 10:30 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Elena Russell Gorman - Funeral services for Mrs. Gorman, wife of 
Bernard James Gorman, who died Friday night at the residence, 725 Duke Street, 
will be conducted at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 
10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
