He was 78 years old. Mr. Gorman served with distinction in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He came to Norfolk in 1851 and with the exception of the time he spent in the army fighting for the South he has lived here ever since. He is survived by two sons, three daughters and a sister. The sons are Edward J. Gorman, city collector for Norfolk and one of the best known men in the city and William J. Gorman, also of Norfolk. The daughters are Misses Mary, Kate and Annie Gorman. His sister is Mrs. Kate Manning of New York. The funeral will take place from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. *************************************************************************** The funeral of the late Thomas Gorman was solemnized from the Sacred Heart Catholic church at 10 a.m. yesterday and was numerously attended. Requiem mass was celebrated by the temporary pastor, Rev. Father W. A. O'Hara, of Keyser, W.Va., and was assisted in the service by Rev. Father John J. Doherty, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic church and the associate pastor, Rev. Father Edward Walsh. There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. During the service, the choir rendered several appropriate selections. The interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: J. R. Coleman, W. J. Scultatus, R. L. Morris, W. H. Hall, M. J. Vellines, J. W. Long, William Hart and Charles E. Francis.
