Goss, while on a visit to the city park about 5:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, was seized with sudden illness and remarked to a lady friend that she believed she was dying. Mr. A. P. Pannill and others who were but a short distance from the music stand when Mrs. Goss was taken sick went immediately to her assistance and placed her in a sitting position, but she soon after became unconscious. Drs. McCurdy, Capehart and Kight were hurriedly on the scene, but the unfortunate lady had breathed her last before they arrived. Coroner Kight gave a certificate that death had resulted from valvular heart1 disease brought on by rheumatism. The remains of the deceased were taken to the funeral apartments of Mr. H. C. Smith, Bank street, and the funeral was held there at 4 o'clock p.m. yesterday, Rev. Dr. Joseph Rennie, of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery.
