He was a native of Statesboro, Ga., and lived in Norfolk and Portsmouth 45 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Nannie Barfield Gould and a son of John and Mrs. Catherine Miller Gould. He was a retired employee of Wells Theater in Norfolk and a Methodist. He was also a member of the Wesleymen of Epworth United Methodist Church, Lafayette Lodge 9, Norfolk Encampment 13 and Canton Odd Fellows Lodge 17 of Norfolk. Surviving, besides his wife, are a sister, Mrs. Fannie G. Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla, and three brothers, Russie Gould of Jacksonville, Louis Gould of Aylett, and Eugene Gould of Seattle, Wash. A funeral service will be held in Cox Funeral Home, Norfolk, Tuesday at 2 p.m. by Dr. Roy Bishop of Epworth United Methodist Church. Burial, with Odd Fellow rites, will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
