Mrs. Clara Grafton of 1502 Virginia Beach blvd. who died Feb. 7 at her home 
received final rites Sunday at Queen Street Baptist Church.

The Rev. J. Jasper Freeman officiated at the service.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Grafton was the daughter of Blount Staton and Mrs. Anne Williams Staton.  
She was the widow of Robert Grafton.

Her memberships included the Pastor’s Aid Club, Dorcas and Missionary Societies 
of Queen Street Church, the Elks and National Ideal Benefit Society.

Survivors include two Norfolkians, a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Southall;  and a 
son, Robert Williams;  and three residents of her native Tarboro, NC, two 
sisters, Mrs. Louise Thomas and Mrs. Mary Howard and a brother, Willie.
