Norfolk - Joseph Gramberry Sr. of 515 Pennsylvania Ave., retired from ILA Local
1248 and a native of Edenton, NC, died Sept. 29 in a hospital.

He was a longshoreman for 35 years and retired.

He was a member of Wesley Union AMEZ Church on Johnson Avenue, where he was a
past chairman of the trustee board and member of Class 3.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Fentress of Moyock, NC, and Mrs.
Lonnie Brown of Norfolk, three grandchildren;  and a great-grandchild.

A funeral was held Oct. 3 in Wesley Union AMEZ Church by the Rev. Carey Johnson.
 Burial was in the family plot, Calvary Cemetery, with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
