Norfolk Virginian, September 15, 1890
The funeral of Mrs. Harriet Granberry, whose death has been reported before, 
took place from the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. L. H. Whitehurst, at 4 PM 
yesterday afternoon at No. 35 Charlotte St. A very large number of friends 
attended to pay the farewell tribute of respect to her memory. The Rev. George 
W. Carter, D.D., conducted the funeral services, assisted by the Rev. C. W. 
Pettit, and at their conclusion the remains were conveyed to Cedar Grove 
Cemetery and interred in the family lot. The following gentlemen acted as pall 
bearers: Messrs. W. H. Fletcher, James Simmons, J. A. Moore, B. F. Harrison, 
G. W. Camp & I. O. Gardner.
