Norfolk Virginian April 3, 1868
FUNERAL OF CAPTAIN CHARLES R. GRANDY - The funeral of this estimable gentleman 
will take place this evening at 4 o'clock from the residence of his father, on 
Bute street, corner Boush. No man in the State has a brighter record on the roll 
of honor than Capt. Grandy — won by his gallantry on the field of battle, his 
gentlemanly deportment, and his magnanimous disposition. Loved by all who knew 
him, his death has brought the tear to the eye and sorrow to the bosom to many 
in this community.
That noble remnant, the "Old Blues," are invited to participate in the last sad 
rites; and also the Masonic fraternity, of which Captain Grandy was an honored 
member, will attend the funeral services.
