Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch June 16, 1933
George W. Grant, 79, died yesterday afternoon at 12:35 o'clock at the home of 
his daughter, Mrs. G. E. Carroll, 1263 West 39th street, after a long illness. 
Among his survivors are 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-
great-grandchild.
Mr. Grant was a member of Edgewater Council, No. 21, Order of Fraternal 
Americans. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carroll and Mrs. Emma Powers of 
Northwest; two sons, Patrolman C. A. Grant of the Norfolk police department and 
G. E. Grant; L. H. Jones and 23 other grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the Paul B. Warren 
funeral home, 362 West Princess Anne road. Burial will be in the family lot in 
Elmwood cemetery.
