Virginian-Pilot March 23, 1961
NORFOLK - William George Grant, 84, widower of Mrs. Geraldine Wilson Grant, died 
Wednesday at 5:30 a.m. in his home, 411 Redgate Ave., after a brief illness.
A native of Portsmouth, he lived in this area all his life. A retired railroad 
man, he had worked for both Norfolk Southern and Norfolk & Western railways.
He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Mary W. Grant, and one son, William G. Grant 
Jr., both of Norfolk.
The body was taken to Cox Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 
the grave in Elmwood Cemetery Friday at 11 a.m. by Dr. Hugh M. Burleigh, pastor 
of Epworth Church.
