The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday January 1, 1933
Mrs. Clara Rose Graves, aged 72, widow of William Armistead Graves, a native 
of Baltimore, and for many years a well-known resident of Norfolk, died at 
7:20 o'clock yesterday morning in Memphis, Tenn.  Surviving her are one 
daughter, Mrs. Mars Lewis, of Norfolk; one son, Lester R. Graves, of 
Memphis; three grandchildren, Mars Lewis, Jr., Lester R. Graves, Jr., and 
Jessie Chandler Graves and one sister, Miss Irene L. Rose, of Baltimore.
Mrs. Graves was visiting her son in Memphis at the time of her death.  The 
body will be taken from the residence of her son-in-law, Mars Lewis 1700 
Claremont avenue to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which she was a member, 
for funeral services Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.  Interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
