She received her elementary education in Norfolk public schools, graduated from Mt. Hope (W.Va.) High School, graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., and received her library science degree from Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn. She was librarian at Norview Junior High School and Broad Creek Junior High School and, at retirement, librarian at Azalea Junior High School. She was a member of Squires Memorial Presbyterian Church and Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Clara Graves Marks of Norfolk; a niece, Mrs. Richard Pretty of Danville; and two great-nephews, Mark Pretty and David Pretty of Danville. The body will be taken from Cox Funeral Home to Squires Memorial Presbyterian Church where a funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Robert Ledbetter. Burial will be in elmwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Howard K. Jones of 3730 Riverside Drive, Ingleside.
