She was born in Norfolk. Mrs. Graves was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Hopewell; a member of Frances Bland Randolph Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as chapter regent; member of District II Regents' Club, state treasurer, state pressbook chairman and state flag chairman. She also served as a volunteer at John Randolph Medical Center and Nursing Home amassing over 21,000 volunteer hours. Mrs. Graves was the daughter of the late Margaret Hoggard Coleman and Horace Wilder Coleman Sr. and the widow of Leonard Roberts Graves Sr. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Richard R. Butterworth of Dinwiddie; a son, the Rev. Leonard R. Graves Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Graves Chilton of Norfolk; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in St. John's Episcopal Church, Hopewell, with the Rev. Edward Bushong, rector, officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Memorial Fund, 505 Cedar Lane, Hopewell, Va. 23860.
