The Rev. Ira D. S. Knight, pastor of the Park Place Baptist Church, and the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist Church, officiated. The attendance was large and there was a profusion of floral tributes, among which was a standing wreath from the general offices and the general agents' office of the Virginian Railroad, a standing wreath from the traffic department of the Virginian, keystone from Norfolk Royal Arch Chapter, No. l, pillow from Atlantic Lodge NO. 2, A.F. and A.M., wreath from George W. Wright Lodge, No 346, A.F. and A.M., pillow from Norfolk Lodge, No. 1, A.F. and A.M., and a pillow from the Consolidated Navigation Company. Norfolk Lodge, No. 1, A.F. and A.M., of which Mr. Gray was a member, attended the funeral in a body. The pallbearers, all members of the lodge, were R. L. Nelligar, W. G. Morris, J. F. Smith, Sol Richter, Blaine Graham, B. L. Odend'hal, W. C. Riday and H. V. C. Wade. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. Additional Comments: While his tombstone gives his date of death as October 31, his death certificate says it was the 30th and that matches the obituary.
