John H. "Jack" Gray, 76, of Chesapeake Health Care, died April 10, 2004, in a 
local hospital. Mr. Gray was born in Winston Salem, N.C., on July 12, 1927.

Jack retired from the City of Norfolk, Department of Parks and Forestry in 1988. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Gray. He is survived by four 
children, Irene Isidoro and her husband Henry of Virginia Beach, John E. Gray and 
his wife Libby of Chesapeake, Christine Jarvis and her husband Wayne of 
Chesapeake, Brenda Brockman and her husband Frank of Virginia Beach; three 
stepdaughters, Elenora Harrison of Norfolk, Cathy Suban of North Carolina and Mary 
Jantti of Virginia Beach; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be private. Friends may join the family at the home of John E. 
Gray, 2021 Miller Ave., Chesapeake, at 7 p.m. Wednesday. H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Chesapeake Chapel, is handling arrangements.
