Virginian Pilot Feb 8 1953
Horace S Gray, Age 80, husband of Mrs. ANNIE SAGSTROM GRAY and son of the late 
WILLIAM H. and Mrs. SALOMIE GWALTNEY GRAY, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died 
at the residence, 3800 Lafayette Blvd, Friday, February 6, 1953 at 11:10 pm. He 
was a member of Christ and St Luke's Episcopal Church. Besides his wife, he is 
survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. EDNA T. BLAKE and Miss JULIA L. GRAY, both of 
Norfolk and Mrs. MARY E. PACINI of Baltimore; 3 sons, HORACE S. GRAY JR, 
RAYMOND A. GRAY and ROBERT E. GRAY, all of Norfolk; 1
sister, Mrs. MAMIE BROWN of Washington; 7 grandchildren and 3 great 
grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell and Williamson Funeral Home 
Sunday, February 8, 1953 at 3:30 pm by the Rev TAYLOR WILLIS, D.D., rector of 
Christ and St Luke's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. 
Pallbearers: ROLAND CRAIG, FLOYD W. CRAIG, GEORGE C. BUTLER, W.H. ATKINSON, 
GEORGE H. FENTRESS, J.E. CROSS and E.M. BEASLEY.
