Mr. Gray was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, was for 19 years a special agent for the Norfolk Southern Railway. He retired September 1, 1937. He resided at 527 New Jersey Avenue. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Callie Godfrey Gray; four daughters, Mrs. Samuel Ozment, Mrs. R.M. Arnold, Mrs. W.M. Towe and Mrs. R.L. Rea; five sons, Emmett F., Richard O., Julius B., Linwood E. and Newton L. Gray; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Norfolk. Services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. J. Sutherland Watt, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, of which Mr. Gray was a member, and the Rev. E.P. Miner, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
