Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, May 17, 1992
Willie Mae Green, of the 2400 block of Tidewater Drive, a retired schoolteacher,
died May 15, 1992, in her home.

She was born in Norfolk. She taught in the Norfolk public school system for 42
years and was a member of St. John's AME Church, the NAACP, Adah Chapter 20
Order of the Eastern Star, and Phi Delta Kappa. She was a graduate of Hampton
Institute and earned her master's degree from Columbia University teacher's
college.

Survivors include five nieces, including Mable Cradle of Norfolk and Eleanor
G.D. Jones of Virginia Beach; and a nephew, Walter H. Green of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's AME Church by the
Rev. I.W. Knight. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be from 1 to
6 p.m. today in Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church
at 10 a.m. Monday. Friends may join the family at the residence.
