Green, 84, of the 1000 block of Kenton Ave., a retired self-employed seamstress and tailor, died March 19, 1994, in Lafayette Villa Health Care. Mrs. Green was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., daughter of the late Della B. and Squire Elbert Spruill. She was a graduate of the Norfolk public schools and was married to the late Cornelius Green on Dec. 24, 1938. She was retired after 30 years and was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church, Margaret Francis Chapter OES (NU)101 and belonged to numerous other organizations. Survivors include two sisters, Mary F. Daniels and Idella S. Rogers, both of Norfolk; an aunt, Marah White of New York; three nieces, Catherine Whitaker of Hacksensack, N.J, Donna Lee Eaton of Raleigh, N.C. and Denise F. Rogers of Norfolk; and two nephews, James Spruill of Norfolk and Gerard Spruill of East Orange, N.J. A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Second Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. G. Gunns. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The family will assemble at the residence. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Second Calvary Educational Fund, 2940 Corprew Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23504.
