VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Minnie Cherry Green, 88, of 1076 Rittman Road, the widow of 
John E. Green Sr., died Tuesday afternoon in a Norfolk hospital.
An area native, she lived here all of her life.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Smelser and Mrs. Benjamin L. Barry 
of Virginia Beach, and Miss Mary T. Green, Mrs. B. E. Swinson, Mrs. Frances G. 
Walker and Mrs. Martha G. Desgain of Norfolk; and a son, John E. Green Jr. of 
Virginia Beach.
A Christian Wake service will be held tonight at 7:30 in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic 
Church, Newport Avenue. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
