NORFOLK - William James Green, 63, of 124 Afton Ave. died Saturday in a hospital.
He was the husband of Mrs. Annie Mae Lilley Green and a son of Mrs. Minnie C. 
Green and the late John E. Green Sr.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was chief estimator for Warwick Plumbing & 
Heating Co. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Surviving, besides his widow and mother, are a daughter, Mrs. Sally Mae Butler of 
Norfolk; a son, William J. Green Jr. of Virginia Beach; six sisters, Mrs. C. E. 
Smelser and Mrs. B. L. Barry of Virginia Beach, Miss Mary E. Green, Mrs. Ben 
Swinson, Mrs. James Walker, and Mrs. George Desgain of Norfolk; a brother, John E. 
Green Jr. of Virginia Beach.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, to 
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Newport Avenue and Painter streets, for a 
Requiem Mass today at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
